Let Us Help:
I have a feeling I know why you’re reading this right now.
You need more time in your day. Running a business is extremely demanding, and there just isn’t enough time in the day to keep all the plates from spinning out of control. And what you need most right now is more proactive help with your business finances and tax strategy. As soon as possible. In fact, yesterday would have been ideal. Am I close?
We get it. We’ve worked with plenty of businesses who have to cobble together 9 different software programs to keep everything straight, or who just wash their hands of it all and put everything on the credit card … and then try to clean up every year after the fact. And they know that this is no way to properly monitor profit margins, cash controls, account management, tax strategy and all of the myriad components of an effective financial system for a business.
Perhaps this is your story too. Or perhaps you’ve reached a stage of development in your business that you want to pass the baton of accounting to another expert team so your expert team can focus on what they do best: making sales and taking care of customers.
Or are you just starting your business and want to start things off on the right foot?
Whatever the reason, we want you to know that our team has been diligently and effectively taking care of the accounting needs of countless organizations in a wide variety of industries—discreetly and expertly handling the ongoing financial management of tax burdens, payroll, bookkeeping, and other comprehensive accounting services while providing expertise in business planning, coaching, and strategic consulting that many businesses need.
Because here’s a certain truth as it relates to taxes and your business: the State and Federal Government would love to have more of your business’ hard-earned money in their accounts. And yes, even though it’s painful, none of us begrudge paying our legal and fair share of taxes. But the problem is that regular business owners, like you, are missing out on legal and safe deductions, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed refunds every year.
It doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t have to hand more dollars over to the government than they require, just because you don’t know their rules as well as they do. You don’t have to live in a constant state of anxiety over the state of your books, feeling guilty about the time you should be devoting to keeping your business profitable.
In fact, to help you find answers to your questions, I’ve compiled some resources in the last couple of years, for business people like you, in response to the specific tax and accounting questions I’ve received from my clients.

Kevin has been our tax accountant for 6 years now, and has done an outstanding job. Every year the process is smooth, stress-free and produces a better result than we expected. Even though we live in Portland, OR, it still feels like we work with someone in our local community because of how professional, organized and talented Kevin is. We would recommend Kevin to anyone looking to improve their overall tax experience.
Kevin is a great accountant. He's knowledgeable and professional. I have great confidence in his work. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have him on my team.
Kevin is a "student of the game" in accounting. He's done both my business and personal taxes for years. He's trust worthy and very knowledgable--he keeps his skills sharp. I referred another small business to Kevin and they rave about his attention to detail and abilities.
Kevin was very easy to work with! As I was changing accountants this year, there was a lot of details I needed to convey on a partnership LLC. AccountAbility did it quickly. Also the back and forth that is sometimes needed went very smoothly. Good price and good experience!
I had a great experience with Kevin at AccountAbility. As a small business owner I was looking for a company to do more than prepare my taxes... He was knowledgeable about the new tax laws and how to go forward and grow my business.
Because of retirement and changing personal circumstances, the completion of our 2017 tax return seemed challenging. We were recommended Kevin Smoot and contacted him for assistance. Kevin dealt efficiently with compiling our tax return, prompting us to systematically assemble the appropriate documentation and submit them to his secure online portal. The online system worked perfectly. Initially, we answered a number of general questions and then, together with written explanation, submitted the scanned documentation to the portal. Overall, a potentially burdensome activity was handled in a relatively straightforward procedure. We recommend Kevin.
I've worked with several accountants and firms and Kevin is above and beyond the best. I refer him to everyone who is looking and those that use his services, come back to me with the same conclusion (and thank me for the referral). His responsiveness is also second to none. I feel as if I'm his top priority, which is hard to find (especially during tax season). If you're thinking about reaching out, don't. Just do it and you won't regret it.
Love working with AccountAbility. In addition to being a nice guy, Kevin is very responsive and makes annual tax preparation simple from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a tax professional.
Mr Kevin Smoot takes his time to explain every step of the tax prep process. I am excited to have him not only prepare my taxes but to also teach me so I can be better prepared for my financial future!
I switched to accountability more than a few years ago and would recommend Kevin to anyone looking for a more personal tax consultant. He provides more one on one help than any of my local options (Ohio resident) and is always a call or email away. Switching to accountability was the best choice I ever made. Quick, problem-free, great service, and very reasonably priced.
